Our 2026 Camp Theme is Sports in Norway
This year we aim to have our typical class instruction (Rosemaling, Hardanger, Ethnic Cooking, Chip Carving, Swedish Weaving, etc.) tie into this theme, as well as other evening and Culture time activities!
Sports and Olympics in Norway
Did you know Team Norway is thought to be a powerhouse in the Winter Olympics?! Norway has hosted the winter Olympics twice, once in 1952 in Oslo and again in 1994 in Lillehammer. Of all the countries that attend the winter Olympics, Norwegian athletes have won the most overall medals totaling 405, with an impressive 148 of those being gold!
Even though Norway has a much smaller population than a lot of the countries that attend the Winter Olympics, they still are able to send 55 athletes to the Winter Games in 2026! Some of the events that we will see our athletes shine in this year are: Cross Country Skiing, Downhill Skiing, and Biathlon.
Throughout our week at camp, we strive to have our classes recognize and tailor their projects towards this year’s theme. We will also be hosting many evening activities and events where the theme will be recognized. So you can look forward to a lot of fun and creativity through your time with us at Trollhaugen Culture Camp!!
